About Edward Nussbaum

Ed studied at Washington University St. Louis School of Fine Arts. The Korean War interrupted his studies and he served in the Air Force. In Okinawa Ed received an award for his sketching. He then went to Parsons School of Design in New York on a scholarship majoring in Graphic Design and Advertising, graduating with Honors. After marrying, Ed worked for ABC Television as an Art Director.

If you want to make paper sculptures you need a cutting board no smaller than 18” by 12”. You will only be cutting into the paper, not the board. Next, you need an X-ACTO Knife and lots of Number 11 blades. You need Elmer’s Glue-All, a transparent white glue. Now you need a variety of colored papers. I use Canson Mi-Teintes, an acid-free pastel paper. You will need a pad of sheer tracing paper, a soft pencil like No. 2 of F and a hard pencil No. 3H and a soft kneaded eraser.
